James B. Mark, M.D.

Dr. Mark is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College of Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. During a 10 year period of active duty in the United States Navy, Dr. Mark completed a surgical internship, 3 years as a Flight Surgeon attached to Carrier Air Wing 7, 4 years of residency training in Orthopaedics at the Naval Regional Medical Center, Portsmouth Virginia, and 2 years as a staff Orthopaedic Surgeon at Submarine Base, Groton Connecticut. Dr. Mark completed his military service by retiring from the United States Naval Reserves after a combined service of 21 years. Dr. Mark devotes the majority of his practice to the care and management of sports related injuries. Treatment of athletes and their injuries encompasses all levels of competition. From grammar school to the professional level, all athletes are treated with timely, efficient, and comprehensive treatment plans. Dr. Mark uses only up to date surgical techniques and is highly accomplished in state of the art arthroscopic techniques. He works closely with the areas top therapists and athletic trainers to provide athletes a successful, safe, and expedient return to competition.

Dr. Mark previously served as sports consultant and team physician to the United States Coast Guard Academy, and is presently serving as orthopaedic sports consultant to Hobart and William Smith Colleges, Keuka College and FLCC athletic teams.

Dr. Mark is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is also a member of the American Orthopaedic Society of Sports Medicine. He is a member of the Rochester Orthopaedic Society, the New York State Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, and New York State and Ontario County Medical Societies.

Dr. Mark as a sports enthusiast maintains an active lifestyle with his family that includes snowboarding and scuba diving. He also enjoys snowmobiling, riding ATV, and trap shooting.
