Steven D. Lasser, M.D.

Dr. Lasser is a graduate of Hobart College and the University of Rochester School of Medicine. He completed a year of general surgery training at the University of Pittsburgh and an additional year in biomechanics research at SUNY Buffalo before beginning orthopaedic surgical training in 1984. After completing his orthopaedic training at SUNY Buffalo, he joined Dr. Costenbader in Geneva to form Interlakes Orthopaedics Surgery, P.C. in 1988.

While at SUNY Buffalo, Dr. Lasser worked closely with Dr. Edward Simmons, an internationally recognized spine surgeon. He has continued his interest in spinal disorders and devotes his practice exclusively to the medical and surgical management of diseases of the spine. In 2004 Dr. Lasser took a leave from his practice to pursue advanced surgical training as a Fellow in Spine surgery at the Texas Medical Center in Houston Texas, thereby bringing state of the art spine surgery to the Finger Lakes region.

Dr. Lasser is certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons and a fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons. He is a member of the North American spine society, the Simmons Surgical Society, Rochester Orthopaedic Society, the New York State Society of Orthopaedic Surgeons, American Medical Association, New York State Medical Society and past president of the Ontario County Medical Society. He is also certified by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners.

Dr. Lasser is currently president of Interlakes Orthopaedic surgery, P.C.

Dr. Lasser is an aviation enthusiast and is currently working on obtaining his instrument rating as a pilot. He also enjoys playing piano.
